SolarSpace promoted its new Lumina II series SS9-66HD 740H model, featuring HJT technology
This module can deliver up to 740 W and a maximum efficiency of 23.82%
Apart from the HJT module, the company showcased its Lumina II series TOPCon module lineup, targeting utility, C&I, and residential applications
Aiming to establish itself as a mainstream PV module manufacturer, SolarSpace, a well-known Chinese PV cell provider, recently showcased its latest range of PV modules and sample cells at SNEC 2025. The company also highlighted its latest achievements from a sustainability perspective.
During a brief visit to the company’s booth, the TaiyangNews team spoke to Tony Wang, Head of Technical Support at SolarSpace. Wang provided a brief overview of the company's Lumina II series PV modules, designed for utility-scale, C&I, and residential applications.
HJT Module
Interestingly, SolarSpace, a traditional n-type TOPCon and p-type PERC cell supplier, has demonstrated its newly launched SS9-66HD 715-740H series HJT module. Although the origin of the used cell has not been explicitly mentioned, Wang shared a brief product description. Wang noted that the SS9 prefix indicates G12 size cells, while SSA stands for the G12R variant, irrespective of cell technology.
The module, equipped with 132 pieces of G12 half-cut cells, is rated for a maximum power output and efficiency of 740 W and 23.82%, respectively. Designed to withstand up to 1,500 V DC system voltage, this module can deliver an open-circuit voltage (Voc) of up to 51.50 V and 17.89 A short-circuit current (Isc). Thanks to the HJT cell’s symmetrical structure, this double glass module boasts a bifaciality of up to 90%, as mentioned in the datasheet. In addition, its lower temperature coefficient of Pmax, -0.25%/°C can boost the energy yield.
Sized at 2,384 x 1,303 x 33 mm and laminated with 2 mm-thick front and rear glass, this module weighs 37.8 kg. Concerning the reliability and durability, the product, featuring HJT cell technology, exhibits low light-induced degradation (LID) of less than 1.5% in its 1st year of operation. It also offers a lower risk of potential-induced degradation (PID), according to the datasheet. The module is certified to withstand high mechanical loads up to 5,400 Pa on the front side and 2,400 Pa on the rear, ensuring reliable performance under extreme conditions, such as heavy snow or strong wind pressure, during utility-scale field operation.
TOPCon Module
Apart from the HJT product, the company also promoted its TOPcon cell technology-based SS9-66HD 730N series module, suitable for utility-scale applications. This module, featuring 132 pieces of G12 half-cut cells, boasts a power output and efficiency of up to 730 W and 23.50%, respectively. Like its HJT counterpart, it also has a maximum rated bifaciality of 90%. However, this product has a temperature coefficient of Pmax, at -0.29%/°C.
Laminated with 2 mm-thick front and rear glass under a dimension of 2,384 x 1,303 x 33 mm, this module weighs 37.5 kg. On the reliability part, it has been certified to withstand up to 5,400 Pa and 2,400 Pa front and rear side mechanical load, respectively.
Following the utility-scale products description, Wang promoted the displayed SSA-66HD series module. Featuring a maximum rated wattage of 635 W and efficiency of 23.51%, this product is built with 132 pieces of G12R size half-cut cells. Combined with 2 mm-thick front and rear glass, this product has a rated weight of 32.5 kg, says the product datasheet.
The company offers product workmanship and linear power attenuation warranties of up to 15 and 30 years, respectively, for the above-mentioned modules.
For the residential use cases, Wang spotlighted the company’s SLA-48HDB series module, featuring 96 half-cut cells. This module can deliver output power of up to 460 W and an efficiency of up to 23.02%. Built with both 1.6 mm-thick front transparent and rear side black glazed glass, measuring 1,762 x 1,134 mm, combined with a 30 mm-thick black frame, this module weighs 20.5 kg. The company promotes this module, with an aesthetically pleasing appearance, for BIPV applications. It is offered with a 15-year product warranty and a 30-year performance guarantee.
Many of the company’s products on display, including the SS9-66HD 730N and the SSA-66HD 635N series, have Certisolis certification, indicating the product’s embedded carbon footprints below 445 kg CO₂/kWc. These products also possess Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification, a standardized document that transparently communicates the environmental impact of a product throughout its life cycle.
