Solar manufacturers are striving to be more and more integrated. China’s SolarSpace is one example. After being Established in 2011, the company quickly evolved as a leading cell supplier with a production capacity of 58.7 GW. Of late the company also stepped into the module supply with a rather low capacity of 5.7 GW. Catching up with the industry, SolarSpace has developed TOPCon technology and started offering module products based on it.

At the recently concluded SNEC, SolarSpace promoted 2 double-glass modules—the PERC-based Lumina I and the TOPCon-based Lumina II series.

Lumina I Series

With a PERC 132 half-cell configuration, the SS9-66HD Lumina I series module boasts a power output of up to 665 W and an efficiency of up to 21.41%. This product has power classes between 645 W to 665 W. The company says its bigger module size of 2,384 x 1,303 x 33 mm helps it save on Balance of System (BoS) costs while generating additional power in a utility-scale project. SolarSpace offers a 15-year workmanship warranty and a linear performance warranty of 30 years on this module series.

Lumina II Series

The new Lumina II series offers the next level of rated power. It boasts a maximum power output of 715 W and an efficiency of up to 23.02% in n-TOPCon 132 half-cell configuration. This latest model is offered in the same dimensions of 2,384 x 1,303 x 33 mm and power classes of 695 W to 715 W. The company says both Lumina I and II are currently commercially available in the Chinese domestic market and will be extended to the Indian market after getting the requisite certification by the end of this year.

Recently, SolarSpace retained its tier-1 position in BNEF’s Q2 2024 Tier-1 PV module manufacturer list. The existing Lumina-II series n-TOPCon modules, which are also a template for the company’s latest products, are part of Kiwa PVEL’s 2024 PV module scorecard, which SolarSpace says is a mark of high quality and final reliability of its modules.
