  • Solis 600W Ultra Mini inverter is specifically designed for balcony solar systems
  • Hybrid PRO inverter, which can connect PV, storage, and grid, can also pull power from batteries or automatically switch on a generator in the event of a power outage
  • Solis's new C&I Hybrid inverter, which is currently in the testing phase and is expected to be released in early 2024
  • A new utility project inverter, the Solis 350 kW, which is the highest-power string inverter in Solis' range and represents a relatively new market for the company in Europe.

Solis promotes a wide range of inverters, including a mini-inverter, a hybrid inverter for residential and C&I, and a utility-scale inverter. At the TaiyangNews conference, Claire Gardner, marketing manager Europe at Solis, explained how each of these products is explicitly relevant to the respective applications (see recording here).

Addressing the growing market for balcony solar, especially in Germany, Solis launched its latest Ultra Mini inverter called Solis 600W. It is the smallest of the residential inverter range from the company, and as the name indicates, the power range starts from 600 W. According to Gardner, following the company's philosophy of product design closely following the application, this small and plug-and-play mini-inverter effortlessly connects to the module port and home plug. Not to be confused with a microinverter, this Solis product is still a string inverter, but it is the smallest so far from the company. Technology-wise, it is as advanced as any other single-phase string inverter, but it has been carefully designed for balcony solar systems. It supports string current up to 16 A, supports a wide voltage range and low start-up voltage, and is offered with an integrated export power manager.

Continuing its development in the storage segment, especially in the hybrid inverter range, Solis launched its new Hybrid PRO inverter. The product design is driven by the need to be self-sufficient, connecting PV, storage, and grid, while also managing an ancillary power source such as a generator. This ensures uninterrupted power supply, even in the event of a power outage. The inverter can pull power from batteries or automatically switch on a generator. The system is ideal for places with frequent power blackouts, such as South Africa, but not limited to.

The Hybrid PRO inverter also offers flexibility in terms of connection, supporting both 1-phase and 3-phase parallel connections. Users can customize charge/discharge time settings, and the inverter is compatible with both lead-acid and lithium batteries. Peak shaving control is also available in both "self-use" and "generator" mode, helping to reduce overall energy costs.

Solis also announced a new C&I Hybrid inverter, which continues the company's legacy of working with "open source" battery manufacturers. This inverter supports a wide power range from 29.9 kW to 50 kW, with up to 120 A maximum charge/ discharge current. It can be connected in parallel with up to 6 units for on-grid and off-grid operation, and it also has generator connectivity. The C&I Hybrid inverter is currently in the testing phase and is expected to be released in early 2024. While the Ultra Mini was the smallest of the range, Solis also launched a new 3-phase 350 kW utility project inverter. This is the highest-power string inverter in Solis' range and represents a relatively new market for the company in Europe. Solis is building a new team around this product line, with a new utility sales director on board.
