  • Solitek says with its new 370 W bifacial solar modules, it has responded to the growing market demand for carport modules
  • With 370 W power and 19.57 % efficiency, the module offers a 30-year product and performance warranty
  • The module is overhead glazing certified by the Germany-based Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt)
  • It claims the modules feature good resilience against external environmental stresses like hailstorms, snow loads, and wind load

Recently, Solitek unveiled its new dual-glass aluminum framed 370 W solar panels compatible with solar carport applications. The company says this product is its response to the growing market demand for specialized bifacial modules suitable for overhead glazing applications in solar carports.

The new bifacial products are configured with a matrix of 60 p-type M6-sized monocrystalline PERC cells, delivering a 370 W power output with a maximum efficiency of 19.57%. The panels with Voc of 40.50 V and Isc of 11.18 A can withstand a maximum operating system voltage of 1000 V, it says. The 35 mm black framed 1782 mm x 1061 mm size bifacial module weighs 32 kg. Each panel's JB with IP68 protection class will be well protected from any external environmental stresses during field operation, according to the manufacturer. Solitek is offering a 30-year product warranty and an 87% output power performance warranty at the end of the service life of the modules.

The company highlighted that its specialized module's front side is constructed with 3 mm thick anti-reflective coated (ARC) glass and the rear side with float glass. It has migrated from the common frameless modules to an anodized black aluminum frame design for ease of installation. Solitek touts certification for overhead glazing application of its new modules from Germany's Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt). For overhead glazing, a residual load-bearing capacity is required in case of glass breakage. In the event of glass breakage, it delays the total collapse of the structure. This gives enough time to anyone standing below the structure to get out.

The manufacturer claims these certified overhead glazing modules can withstand class 4 hail impact. Not only a wild hailstorm but the product has also been designed to withstand snow loads of up to 10,500 Pa and wind loads of up to 5,400 Pa. Its Class A fire rating ensures maximum possible resilience from any kind of fire risk.

Solitek CEO Julius Sakalauskas says "We decided to include a framed module option within our Solid line, typically known for its frameless products, to facilitate easier installation processes without compromising the exceptional durability our modules are known for. The increased glass thickness enhances the modules' resilience, allowing them to endure significant snow and hail impacts."
