Sungrow unveiled its latest PV plant design software, iSolarDesign, at All Energy Australia 2025
It features an analytical function that simulates power generation, forecasts revenue from energy storage, and calculates the project’s return on investment
Unlike the standard design software, iSolarDesign generates layouts for multiple plant configurations
At All Energy Australia 2025, leading PV inverter and ESS manufacturer Sungrow introduced its latest PV plant design software, iSolarDesign, aimed at streamlining planning, installation, and operation of solar plus storage projects.
This software operates on a dual-engine model: Scenario + Computing Power. It enables the platform to analyze multiple project conditions, from small residential installations to complex commercial systems, while computing layout options in terms of technology and economy of asset lifecycle. Its analytical function covers multiple key metrics of a project, including simulation of power generation, forecasting revenue from energy storage, and calculating the return on investment (ROI). Unlike standard design software that provides data for a single plant configuration, iSolarDesign generates multiple system solutions simultaneously. These options, aligning with multiple data points like DC/AC ratio, cost-efficiency, and energy yield, among others, help users to compare and select the system setup that meets project requirements. In addition, its access to regional electricity market data helps provide a system configuration that is aligned with specific consumption patterns and tariff structures. Apart from offering a user-customized design, it features functions to provide quotations and electrical drawings of projects. The ‘One-Click Quotation’ function generates project costing by linking designs directly to distributor databases. It also helps streamline installation and maintenance planning by generating electrical drawings, even in 3-dimensional axes.
The company states that this platform, available in both web and mobile apps, enables quick response to client requests for changes or tweaks in design or installation.
