  • Trina Solar has announced global launch of its Vertex S+ solar module, picking up Australia for the same
  • The new double-glass module can reach up to 425W power output and a maximum efficiency of 21.9%
  • It uses 210mm wafer sized N-type PACO cell technology, MBB and non-destructive cutting
  • The company is targeting residential, as well as commercial and industrial segments for this high efficiency product

Trina Solar launched a new high-efficiency solar module in its Vertex series, calling it Vertex S+—a N-type PACO cell technology product, starting with Australia, a high growth market for the Chinese cell and module producer. The module is aimed at residential, commercial and industrial (C&I)

An upgrade of the Vertex S module, Vertex S+ offers up to 425W power output and a maximum efficiency of 21.9% based on 210mm wafer sized cells. For this version, Trina Solar engineers use double glass, instead of backsheet as 'double glass is more durable, allowing the module to perform even in very hot or very hot and humid environments', explained the company's Asia Pacific President Todd Li.

Vertex S+ module is lightweight at 21.5 kg for easy installation, uses higher efficient n-type cells, multi busbar (MBB) technology, non-destructive cutting and comes with 25-year product warranty and 30-year power warranty.

"We chose Australia for the launch of Vertex S+ to reinforce our position as Australia's number one solar module brand* and to capitalize on the tremendous growth in the commercial, industrial and residential solar market here," added Todd. "Australian households are turning to higher power, efficiency modules to meet their needs and because they want to help society mitigate climate change. Some also need more solar power so they can recharge an electric vehicle."

Trina officially launched Vertex S modules, also for distributed generation, in November 2020 with over 405W output.

The new product will be Trina's highest efficient solar module. In the latest Top Module Listing including products until February, Trina is represented with a 21.6% PERC solar panel (see Top Solar Modules Listing – Feb. 2022).
