  • Trina Solar's SKL PVST has declared achieving 23.56% efficiency for 210mm P-type monocrystalline silicon PERC solar cells
  • This high conversion efficiency has been achieved for the company's industrial large area cells
  • The 'world record' has been independently confirmed by the National Center of Supervision and Inspection on Solar Photovoltaic Product Quality

Integrated solar PV products manufacturer Trina Solar has announced achieving a 'new world record' in terms of power conversion efficiency for its industrial large area 210 mm x 21 0mm high-efficiency PERC solar cell in mass production. The efficiency level was achieved by the manufacturer's State Key laboratory of PV Science and Technology (SKL PVST).

The 23.56% efficiency for 210 P-type monocrystalline silicon PERC solar cells has been independently confirmed by the 3rd party identified as the National Center of Supervision and Inspection on Solar Photovoltaic Product Quality (CPVT).

According to Trina Solar's Head of High Efficiency Cell and Module R&D Center, Dr. Yifeng Chen this demonstrates that 210 cells can have high efficiency. He stressed, "Our technical team will continue to focus on transfer innovative technologies to manufacturing to consolidate our technology leadership in high efficiency cells mass production."

This follows the company's 23.03% efficiency for its Vertex extreme high-efficiency P-type monocrystalline silicon module based on 66 high-efficiency 210mm format PERC cells, certified by TUV Rheinland and TUV North Germany (see China PV News Snippets: Canadian Solar, Trina, Risen).

Trina will talk at the upcoming TaiyangNews Reliable PV Module Design 2021 Virtual Conference on Aug.31, 2021 about how it has designed and is mass-manufacturing its new 210 mm wafer based solar panels to deliver top performance for decades.
