At the recently concluded SNEC 2024 event, Trina Solar’s sister companies Trina Solar Evergreen and Trina Storage exhibited their respective colorful building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) module and commercial & industrial (C&I) battery energy storage system (BESS) solutions.

BIPV Solution

Interacting with TaiyangNews at the event, Trina Solar Evergreen, a new business entity in Trina Solar, highlighted its latest colorful photovoltaic (PV) glass module under the BIPV category. The tailor-made BIPV module boasts a power density of 150 W/m² and an efficiency of up to 18%, suitable for different customized BIPV applications, like balcony solar and green buildings, etc. The company says the model’s double-glass configuration yields a 32 kg/m² weight. Trina Solar Evergreen opined that this module can help achieve carbon neutrality in the construction industry. The company said the pre-launch version with custom PV glass colors will be offered in tailored dimensions starting September 2024.

Storage solution

Trina Storage, the energy storage arm of Trina Solar, introduced its latest C&I-scale Potentia 2 BESS. This model is equipped with 340 Ah cells and boasts a total energy storage capacity of up to 261 kWh and an output of up to 125 kW. The Potentia 2 BESS features an integrated design with a patented biomimetic liquid cooling system for BESS modules and a forced-air cooling system for the PCS. A biomimetic liquid cooling system design mimics a natural cooling mechanism potentially leading to more effective cooling. This product is expected to achieve mass production and delivery in September 2024. Primarily eyeing the Chinese domestic storage market, the company intends to expand into Europe, APAC, and North American storage markets.

Alongside the Potentia 2 series, the company also showcased its flagship Elementa 2 series storage product equipped with Trina’s in-house 314 Ah lithium phosphate (LFP) cells, delivering 5 MWh of storage capacity.
