World4Solar, a Nevada, US-based solar carport solution provider, promoted its latest all-in-one Lumaport series model at the recently concluded RE+ 2024 exhibition in Anaheim, California. On display was the company’s carport solution, which is integrated with a solar canopy system, hybrid inverter, and battery bank, can harness power from the Sun and provide energy to charge electric vehicles (EV) in an on-grid and an optional off-grid mode.

The director of solution management at World4Solar, Nick Baoteng, commented during a one-on-one conversation with TaiyangNews that this model can provide a cost-effective pollution-free solar carport solution to US businesses and commercial spaces.

The solar canopy of the solar carport model, placed over pre-assembled metal wing segments, is held by Lumaport columns. World4Solar offers 3 different models of 2,286 mm (7.5 ft) wide wing segments – Lumaport 5, Lumaport 7, and Lumaport 10.

The Lumaport 5, featuring a 5,152 mm (16.9 ft) length or roof structure covering depth, can accommodate up to 2.4 kWp PV capacity on top of a 5,125 x 2,286 mm (125 ft²) gapless solar roofs at a tilt angle of 10°. The larger version, Lumaport 7, designed with a roof structure covering a depth of 6,797 mm (22.3 ft), can carry up to 3.2 kWp PV capacity on top of a 6,797 x 2,286 mm (167 ft²) size roof area at a 10° inclination, added World4Solar. Lumaport 10, the largest version among all wing segments, offers a roof structure depth of 10,302 mm (33.8 ft) and a power capacity of up to 4.8 kWp over a 10,302 x 2,286 mm (250 ft²) solar roof area at a 7° tilt angle.

All Lumaport carport models, consisting of 5 wing segments, are held by 2 columns, leading to a minimal installation footprint. The columns can carry all the integrated electronics parts like a hybrid inverter, battery, WiFi, and optional EV charger. These columns, equipped with an LED lighting system, also can be integrated with up to 60 kW 3-phase hybrid inverters connected with an LFP-type battery bank of up to 72 kWh storage capacity. Thus, this scalable carport system can be set in an on-grid or off-grid mode according to the customer’s need, added the company.

This latest Lumaport series solar carport model is commercially available in the US market.
