The renewable energy arm of Greece's Public Power Corp (PPC), PPC Renewables has launched a competitive selection process seeking bidders for 550 MW solar power plant to be located at the former lignite mine of Ptolemaida in Macedonia municipality.
The former mine is located within Eordaia and Kozani regions. Selected company will be tasked with not only the installation and commissioning of the project, it will also need to secure licensing. Construction time is stated as 22 months, while total contract until final handover of the project is 48 months.
Tender calls for construction and commissioning of the project that's estimated to cost €216 million, excluding VAT. Interested participants can either be a member state of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA).
Last date to submit proposals is September 30, 2022, according to tender documents available on PPC Renewables' website.
The tender is part of PPC Renewables' plan to install large scale solar power plants with 1.9 GW combined capacity in lignite mining region of Western Macedonia for which it secured a green signal from Energy Regulatory Authority (ERA) in December 2020 (see PPC Renewables To Build 1.9 GW Solar On Lignite Sites).
