Algeria Opens Tender For 2 GW Solar PV Capacity

Sonelgaz Invites Interested National & International Bidders For 2 GW Solar PV Tender Call Across Various Algerian Municipalities

The renewable energy arm of Algerian state-owned energy utility Sonelgaz, Sonelgaz Energies Renouvelables (Sonelgaz-EnR) has launched an international tender for 2 GW solar PV capacity to be developed across the country in the form of 15 solar power projects.

Sonelgaz-EnR wants 220 MW of this capacity to be located in M'Ghaier region, and another 220 MW in Batmete municipality. Nakhla municipality will host a 200 MW project and another 200 MW project in Leghrous.

Remaining capacity will be spread in Abadla, Kenadsa, Ras El Oued, Merouana, Aflou, Guerrara, Frenda, Taleb Larbi, Touggourt, Tolga and Khenguet Sidi Nadji municipalities.

Broad scope of work for interested national and international bidders will span study, engineering, civil works, supply, transport, assembly, training, testing and commissioning of the project along with their grid connection. Companies that have built solar power plants with 40 MW or higher capacity will be considered.

Tender documents with tender reference N°01/CEEG/2023, published on February 27, 2023, are available on the website of Sonelgaz and Sonatrach's procurement website Baosem, and can be submitted latest by May 29, 2023.
