Bahrain based aluminium producer Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) has launched a call to seek an EPC company to establish a solar power project for the company with more than 5 MW capacity.

Alba Solar Farm will be spread on some 37,000 sq. mtr. space over operational areas, car parks and Alba Club, and each of the modules used to have a minimum of 350W power output.

Broad scope of work includes survey, design, engineering, civil and structural works, erection, testing and commissioning the facility and grid connecting it.

Tender documents can be purchased till November 30, 2021 and technical bids can be submitted till January 31, 2022.

According to the Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA) of Bahrain, the kingdom aims to achieve a renewable energy share of 5% or 255 MW in its total mix by 2025 and raise it to 10% or 710 MW by 2035 using a mix of solar, wind and waste-to-energy technologies, under its National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP).

It is to be done through net metering, tender-based feed-in-tariff (FIT) and renewable energy mandate for new buildings.
