The tender offers 2.625 GW with a maximum bid value of 6.80 ct/kWh, to be submitted by the deadline of March 3, 2025
Open-space systems on agricultural and disadvantaged lands are eligible, subject to capacity thresholds
Provisions from "Solar Package I," including a maximum bid volume of 0.05 GW, await the European Commission’s state aid approval.
The Federal Network Agency of Germany, or the Bundesnetzagentur, has announced a solar tender for a total volume of 2.625 GW and a maximum bid value of 6.80 ct/kWh.
Provisions under Solar Package I, including an increased maximum bid volume of 0.05 GW and higher values for special systems like high-elevated agri-PV and moor-PV, require European Commission state aid approval. The maximum bid volume will remain at 0.02 GW until the approval is granted and current regulations continue to apply.
Open-space solar systems on agricultural and disadvantaged lands are eligible, subject to capacity thresholds. Exceeding these thresholds will exclude bids for such lands. The total tender volume for 2025 is 9.9 GW, distributed equally across 3 bidding dates.
Bid submissions will be digital, adhering to the prescribed format using the specific forms available online, and sent to the Bundesnetzagentur’s Bonn office. The bid deadline is set for March 3, 2025. The specifics of the tender can be accessed here.
Releasing the renewable energy installation numbers for 2024, Bundesnetzagentur recently said that Germany added close to 20 GW of new renewable energy capacity in the year, a 12% year-on-year increase from 2024 (see Germany Exits 2024 With 16.2 GW New Solar PV Installed Capacity).
