German development agency Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI) has launched a tender looking for consultants to help with a 100 MW solar power plant in Kosovo, financed by the German development bank KfW.

Selected consultant will be required to provide consulting services to implement the project that's estimated to provide around 145 GWh of electricity annually on completion. It may also be accompanied by a complementary storage system of around 50 MWh heat and/or electricity.

The Solar4Kosovo I – Photovoltaics project promoters want some 150-hectare ash dump fields in the vicinity of thermal power plant Kosovo A and waste dump Dragodan to be revitalized for the solar project, along with construction of up to 100 MW solar plant.

GTAI says the consultant shall provide expertise in concept preparation, tendering, engineering, construction and commissioning supervision to ensure the implementation of the project with respect to time, cost and quality.

Qualified independent consultants will submit prequalification documents in response to this call latest by October 7, 2022. Further details are available on GTAI's website.

GTAI has launched the tender on behalf of government owned Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK).

Back in early 2021, Solar Energy Group Europe secured a connection agreement from Kosovo's national transmission system operator KOSTT for a 150 MW DC/136 MW AC solar power plant (see Kosovo To Get 150 MW DC Solar Power Plant).
