A joint venture between energy generator THDC India Limited (THDCIL) and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), TUSCO Limited is seeking the services of a consultant to explore the feasibility of an 800 MW Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Park (UMREPP), comprising solar PV technology, in Uttar Pradesh.
The proposed solar park is to be located in Tehsil Mau in Chitrakoot district on approximately 4,000 acres of land spread across 9 villages of Kharagdah, Chhataini Mafi, Manka Chhataini, Gahur, Kotwa Mafi, Dondiya Mafi, Kataiya Dandi, Chharehara and Chachokhar. Chitrakoot Solar Park is expected to be commissioned by December 2025.
Selected consultant is required to prepare a feasibility cum detailed project report (DPR) for its development along with suggested business model options.
Draft DPR needs to be filed within 75 days of the acceptance of the letter of award (LOA) and approval of feasibility report by TUSCO. Entire project is estimated to finish within 90 days.
The tender was launched on March 2, 2023 and the last date to submit proposals is March 29, 2023. Details can be sourced from the government's e-procurement website with tender ID: 2023_THDC_743530_1.
TUSCO was set up in 2020 to realize the development of 2 GW renewable energy capacity through 3 UMREPPs in Uttar Pradesh. Apart from 800 MW at Chitrakoot, 2 such parks are planned for Lalitpur and Jhansi with 600 MW solar capacity each.
In February 2023, THDCIL opened a call for consultants for the 600 MW Jhansi solar project that's backed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC) (see THDCIL Planning Large Scale Solar & Floating PV Projects).
