Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL) has invited expressions of interest (EOI) from interested developers to establish grid connected solar PV power project in 1.2 GW Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park (UMREPP) in Uttar Pradesh's Jalaun district.

A joint venture (JV) between NHPC Limited and Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), BSUL is tasked with implementing 1.2 GW Jalaun Solar Park.

Entire 1.2 GW capacity is to be established in in 2 locations with 600 MW each. In Madhogarh sub-district of Jalaun district, this capacity is targeted to come online by March 2024, and in Orai sub-district by August 2024.

According to BSUL, the proposed 1.2 GW solar park is divided into 100 MW blocks for both location 1 and 2 with an area of around 193 hectares considered for each of the blocks. BSUL will provide land plots/blocks on lease.

Winning developers need to operate the facility for 25 years from commercial operation date.

Power generated will be procured by the JV for a fixed tariff not exceeding INR 2.75 per kWh, in the medium term/long term. The project has been granted stage-I connectivity to Interstate Transmission System (ISTS) by the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTUIL).
