Grenergy’s 1.7 TWh/Year Reverse Auction In Chile

Company’s 2nd Chilean auction for solar and energy storage assets

Spanish independent producer of renewable energy Grenergy has launched a reverse auction for the sale of 1.7 TWh/year of energy from its Chile-located solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS).  

Grenergy’s commercialization division, GR Power, will offer 1,400 GWh/year of energy stored in batteries during the night along with 300 GWh of PV production capacity under the auction. Power supply is expected to begin between H1 2026 and H1 2027.

It is open to power generators, retailers, and large consumers with energy demand in the coming years. GR Power is conducting this auction through the local electricity marketplace Match Energia.

Applications for this auction will be accepted till May 6, 2025. Details are available on Grenergy’s website.

This is Grenergy’s 2nd renewable energy auction in Chile, as the previous round was held in March 2022. The company has 18.3 GWh of storage and 4.1 GW of solar in its Chilean pipeline.
