The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited hybrid project developers for 2 GW wind-solar hybrid capacity, to be located anywhere in India and grid connected to the inter-state transmission system (ISTS).
Launched under tranche-VII, the tender specifies that a hybrid project here means 1 solar and 1 wind power project with their rated capacities at a minimum of 33% of the contracted capacity. Energy storage may or may not be part of the configuration.
The request for selection (RFS) round requires the winners to identify the land, install and own the project while also installing a dedicated transmission network up to the interconnection point.
The minimum capacity a company can bid for in a single bid is 50 MW, and the maximum can go up to 1 GW.
SECI will be an intermediary nodal agency to procure power supplied by the HPDs under 25-year power purchase agreements (PPA) and selling the same to buying entities on a back-to-back basis.
The tender was launched on October 23, 2023. According to the tender details available on SECI's website, the last date to submit bids offline is December 6, 2023.
Under tranche-VI, SECI selected AMP Energy Green, ReNew Vikram Shakti, Hero Solar Energy and ACME Cleantech as the winners of the 1.2 GW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects tender.
For the 1.2 GW tranche-V, the winners were TP Saurya Limited, AMP Energy Green Private Limited and NTPC Renewable Energy Limited.
