In India, 2 state-owned entities have launched a call for a total of 500 MW solar PV capacity as NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) seeks EPC service providers for a 300 MW solar PV project in Gujarat's Khavda Renewable Energy Park, and NLC India invites bidders for 200 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected solar power project to be located anywhere in India.
Broad scope of work for EPC companies for NTPC REL's 300 MW solar power tender spans design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning. It will need solar PV modules to be supplied by the bidder.
Job also requires comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) of the plant for a period of 3 years post commissioning.
In December 2020, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation of Khavda Renewable Energy Park as an Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park (UMREPP) targeted to have 30 GW annual production capacity from solar and wind energy sources in the Rann of Kutch.
NTPC is building a 4.75 GW solar park within Khavda Renewable Energy Park (see India's Largest Solar Park With 4.75 GW Capacity, Cleared).
According to the call issued on April 7, 2023, this capacity needs to be developed in the Rann of Kutch. Bids for the tender with NIT No. NRE-CS-5779-004(EPC)-9 can be sent in till May 26, 2023.
NLC India's 200 MW solar tender is for the winner to set it up on land procured/leased by the developer on government or public sector undertaking (PSU) land. O&M services too need to be provided for 3 years. Entire scope of work needs to be carried out by the contractor on lump-sum turnkey basis.
Last date to submit bids for the call launched on April 8, 2023 is May 9, 2023. Tender details will be available on NLC India's website with tender no. 2324000017.
