Indian Public Utility Launches Solar Tenders For 3 GW

SJVN Solicits 1.46 GW Solar Modules & Developers For 1.5 GW ISTS Connected PV Capacity

State-owned hydropower utility SJVN's green energy arm has launched a tender seeking solar modules with 1.465 GW combined capacity for its projects in India. It has also issued a separate call for developers for 1.5 GW PV capacity.  

The module tender by SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) specifies that the company is looking for manufacture and supply of solar PV modules. These will be deployed for its various projects in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Bihar states. 

While interested bidders can bid for any number of projects, a single company stands to win not more than 572 MW capacity. 

The tender was launched on October 30, 2023 with the last date of bid submission being November 30, 2023. Details are available on SJVN's website

Additionally, SJVN is also soliciting bids from interested solar power project developers to set up 1.5 GW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected PV facilities anywhere in India. The tender will be conducted under tariff-based competitive bidding. 

The notice for this tender with the number SJVN/CC-Delhi/REIA/2023/SOLAR-1 TSC SJVN-2023-TN000003 was announced on October 31, 2023 with the last date of bid submission being December 15, 2023.
