Indian public sector infrastructure construction company Ircon International Limited (IRCON) is soliciting bids from interested EPC service providers for 500 MW AC/600 MW DC grid connected solar PV capacity in Karnataka's Pavagada.

Job responsibilities include design, engineering, manufacturing, installing and commissioning grid connected solar PV capacity on turnkey basis, and providing operation and maintenance (O&M) services for 3 years. The EPC package also includes 220 kV substation for CTU grid connected solar projects.

It wants bifacial solar modules with an average 540W output to be installed. Modules supplied need to come under domestic category requirement (DCR). Tracker technology is also sought by IRCON for this project.

Tender details are available on IRCON's website with invitation to bid (IFB) no being IRPL/SOLAR/EPC AND MODULE PACKAGE/3. Launched on August 29, 2022, last date to submit techno-commercial and price bids is September 20, 2022.

In September 2021, IRCON won 500 MW solar capacity under Indian Renewable Energy Development Company's (IREDA) 5 GW CPSU Phase-II auction along with NTPC, SJVN, NHPC, NLC India (see India PV News Snippets).
