North Macedonia's state-owned electricity utility Elektrani na Severna Makedonija (ESM) is looking to expand its renewables portfolio with the addition of 2 solar power plants of 30 MW capacity for which it is seeking consultants with the help of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
It wants 20 MW solar power capacity to be divided as Bitola 1 and 10 MW as Oslomej 2 facilities. While Bitola 1 facility will come up near Bitola Thermal Power Plant, Oslomej 2 project will be located on a portion of abandoned coal mine in Oslomej.
Through this request for proposals (RFP) as a service to its client ESM, the bank aims to facilitate the timely and effective implementation of the project.
Interested consultants and project supervisor services have time till December 2, 2022 to respond to a call whose details are available on the bank's website.
ESM currently supplies power through hydroelectric, thermal plants and wind turbines. In April 2022, ESM commissioned its 1st and the country's maiden large scale solar power plant with 10 MW capacity in Oslomej, also financially backed by the EBRD (see Europe PV News Snippets).
