The renewable energy arm of Indian utility NTPC Ltd, NTPC Renewable Energy (NTPC REL) has launched tenders seeking EPC package with land for up to 1.1 GW solar PV capacity and balance of system (BOS) package of 1.255 GW for solar projects in India.
EPC package with land
There are 3 separate tenders for which NTPC is seeking EPC package with land for grid connected solar power capacity.
The 1st tender relates to state transmission utility (STU) connected solar PV projects of up to 200 MW capacity (NIT No. NRE-CS-5780-004-9) in Madhya Pradesh, while the 2nd tender is for up to 300 MW solar capacity (NIT No. NRE-CS-5776-004-9) in Gujarat.
For both these tenders, NTPC REL wants the land to be identified, acquired and transferred in favor of the company by the winner. Grid connectivity too needs to be ensured at the state transmission utility (STU) substation based on the location of the plant.
The 3rd tender in this category wants the winners to provide EPC package with land for the development of up to 600 MW solar PV projects (NIT No. NRE-CS-5781-004-9) anywhere in India. Grid connectivity for this needs to be provided at the interstate transmission system (ISTS) substation.
Launched on June 2, 2022, the last date to submit bids for 200 MW MP tender is July 8, 2022, and that for the 600 MW tender is July 14, 2022. The 300 MW Gujarat tender was launched on May 31, 2022 for which bids will be accepted till July 7, 2022.
BOS package
The BOS tender is for 1.255 GW solar PV projects at Khavda Renewable Energy Power Park in the Rann of Kutch in the state of Gujarat. NTPC REL said it will supply solar PV modules for this capacity as a 'free issue item'.
It will be developed as 3 projects with 315 MW capacity each, and a single project with 310 MW capacity. Broad scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the plant.
Winners will also be required to design and construct the foundation and erection of module mounting structure (MMS) with tracker based technology for the panels, as well as provide all associated electrical and civil works for grid interface. Comprehensive O&M for the plant with electrical equipment, consumable and spare parts for 3 years post commissioning is also part of the job.
Details about the BOS tender (NIT No. NRE-CS-5779-004(BOS)-9) that was launched on June 2, 2022 are available on NTPC's tender website.
Last date for bid submission is July 6, 2022.
