SECI has launched a new solar PV tender for the supply of 400 MW solar PV modules
These need to be domestically manufactured modules with domestically manufactured cells
Module manufacturers with facilities under construction are also eligible to apply
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited suppliers of domestically manufactured solar modules with domestically manufactured solar cells to supply 400 MW PV panels under a new tender launched. These are to be delivered at Ramagiri in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
It plans to procure 400 MW of solar module capacity in 4 lots of 100 MW each. A single bidder may quote for one or more lots. SECI, as the owner, can place a repeat order up to an additional quantity of 100% of the awarded PV module package capacity on the same price, terms and conditions of the original contract, in the lot size of 100 MW.
Module to be delivered by the winners under the contract must have a minimum 20.9% efficiency and 540 W of power rating. Temperature coefficient of power should not be less than -0.40%/°C. These modules can have glass-polymer or glass-glass configuration, but with a transmittance of above 90%. For the backsheet used, the material thickness should be ≥ 300 µ.
For TOPCon glass-backsheet modules, the encapsulant can be POE or EPE on both front and back sides of the cell. For TOPCon glass-glass modules, POE should only be on the front side of the cells. For mono-PERC modules, the preferred encapsulant is the EVA.
The entire awarded capacity will need to be delivered to SECI within 9 months of the date of the contract agreement.
Original PV module manufacturers with a minimum annual production capacity of 133 MW can submit bids under route I wherein their module manufacturing facility is existing and under production, or route II which means their module manufacturing facility is under pipeline or construction. Bidders participating through route I need to submit the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) proof.
Launched on November 11, 2024, the tender specifies December 5, 2024 as the last date of bid submission.
