The Ministry of Energy in Serbia has announced a tender to award financial support for solar PV systems installed by residential units with a view to producing electricity for self-consumption as part of its initiative to support energy efficiency measures for the segment through local self-government units and municipalities.
End beneficiaries include residential buildings, family homes and apartments with an aim to help them save energy and reduce country's overall GHG emissions. Subsidies will be awarded for the installation of solar panels and accompanying installations for self-consumption of electricity generated, and preparation of necessary technical documentation regarding the installation of solar panels that will be connected to the grid.
Awarded amount by local self-government units and municipalities would support the projects with 50% of the total cost, with the citizens themselves incurring remaining 50% expense.
Last date to submit applications is October 1, 2021. Tender details are available on the Energy Ministry's website.
The ministry had last week said it would launch the tender on September 3, 2021 and that the call will be followed by several public calls in 2022 to subsidize installation of solar panels (see Serbia To Launch Solar PV Subsidy Tender).
