  • Telangana seeks to empanel EPC vendors for the development of grid-connected solar capacity

  • It entails the development of 1 MW solar power plants each across the state, reaching a cumulative 1 GW capacity

  • TGREDCO also launched an EoI for interested companies and individuals to become registered vendors for PMSG scheme implementation

The Telangana Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TGREDCO) has invited interested EPC contractors for its solar power empanelment tender for the deployment of a combined 1 GW capacity across the Indian state.

The state government agency wants to empanel EPC vendors for grid-connected solar power plant capacity of 1 MW each for a cumulative 1 GW capacity through a rate contract on a CapEx basis.

The broad scope of work involves the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning with a remote monitoring system with comprehensive warranty, and guarantee for 5 years. Operation and maintenance services for a year from the date of commissioning are also part of the job.

The tender was launched on November 25, 2024, with the last date of bid submission being December 10, 2024.

This one follows TGREDCO’s expression of interest (EOI) for interested companies and individuals to become registered vendors under the country’s flagship rooftop solar scheme PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana (PMSG) on November 9, 2024.

PMSG targets to install solar PV systems for 10 million households by March 2027 with a Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of up to INR 78,000 ($941)/household (see India Eyeing 30 GW Rooftop Solar Capacity With New Scheme).

According to the TGREDCO call, this scheme offers potential in the state’s untapped markets, in addition to the existing high-growth districts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri.

As a registered vendor, empaneled vendors will be involved during the entire lifecycle of rooftop solar installations, right from system design and component supply to installation, commissioning and maintenance for 5 years.

Interested companies can express their interest on the TGREDCO website.

Telangana’s total installed solar PV capacity as of October 31, 2024 was 4.84 GW, comprising 472.90 MW of rooftop solar capacity under PMSG, according to the country’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
