The Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd (MSPGCL) is inviting bids from interested solar project developers to set up a 105 MW grid connected floating solar PV plant at Erai Dam in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district.
Entire capacity is suggested to be set up as 2 patches of 65 MW and 40 MW, however the winner can make adjustments to bring it all online on time.
Project needs to be built on build-own-operate (BOO) basis with the winner entering into a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with MSPGCL. It will then sell power to the state discom Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co Limited (MSEDCL).
The utility said the project is being implemented under the provisions of modified Solar Park Scheme under Mode 8 of the National Solar Mission (NSM) which is titled Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks (UMREPP). According to this, any central or state entity or their subsidiaries can be solar power park developers (see India Modifies Solar Park Development Scheme).
The international tender was launched on June 17, 2022, and the last date to submit bids is July 15, 2022.
In March 2022, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) launched a tender for 100 MW floating solar power plant at Morbe Dam (see Tender For 100 MW Floating Solar Plant).
