Massader, the development arm of Palestine Investment Fund (PIF) has launched a tender through which it aims to set up a solar module assembly line in Palestine. The tender is open to all eligible and qualified suppliers from the field of solar power.
Massader said tender will be awarded to the supplier offering the lowest quote.
The request for qualification (RFQ) announcement on Massader's website mentions September 15, 2021 as the last date to submit bids.
According to local media, the solar module assembly line is to have 20 MW production capacity. It is planned to be installed in the West Bank region of Palestine, and expected to come online by the end of 2022.
Massader is mandated to invest strategic large scale renewable energy and natural resources projects with a view to contributing to the country's energy security and also attracting foreign investment. It has been handling the rooftop solar program for schools in the form of Noor Palestine Solar Program (see Palestine School Rooftop Solar Phase I Inaugurated).
