In Summary, AIKO, China’s premier cell vendor has branched out into the supply of modules of late. The company is one of the pioneers
of the back contact cell architecture named ABC that stands for All-Back Contact. By the end of 2023, AIKO boasted a production capacity of 36 GW for PERC cells and 10 GW for ABC cells and modules, with an additional 15 GW ABC cells and modules under construction. In early 2024, AIKO announced plans to build a total of 40 GW n-TOPCon cells through technological upgrades and new factory constructions. While AIKO does not have upstream capacity in-house, the company has made strategic investments in upstream companies – Gokin Solar, a producer of ingot and wafers and Lihao Semiconductor, a polysilicon supplier – for an easy access and secure supply and control over the complete value chain.

While the AIKO continues to offer cells based on different technologies, its module products are exclusively based on ABC back contact technology. AIKO has been introducing a series of high-efficiency ABC modules to cater to diverse solar applications, including residential, C&I, and utility-scale projects. AIKO is also strongly focusing on down-stream integration. The company offers inverters, storage systems and mounting systems, developing itself into a one stop solar systems solution provider in specific markets.
