10 solar PV module manufacturers were recognized for qualifying for the TaiyangNews 2025 Badge of Excellence award at SNEC 2026
The awards recognize strong module performance and technology achievements highlighted in the annual rankings
The list shows that advanced TOPCon, BC and HJT technologies continue to shape the industry's efficiency leadership
TaiyangNews presented its TOP SOLAR MODULES 2025 Badge of Excellence to top solar module manufacturers during the 19th SNEC International PV Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition held in June 2026.
The badge recognizes companies that maintained a strong presence in its monthly global efficiency rankings throughout 2025.
Now in its 3rd year, TaiyangNews awards its annual Badge of Excellence to manufacturers that appear in the global top 10 solar module efficiency rankings for at least 6 months during a calendar year.
The 2025 recipients of the badge are AIKO, Astronergy, DMEGC Solar, Huasun Energy, JA Solar, JinkoSolar, LONGi, Maxeon, Tongwei Solar and Trinasolar.
At SNEC 2026, LONGi, JinkoSolar, JA Solar, Trinasolar and DMEGC Solar were presented the the badge, while AIKO and Astronergy will be awarded at Intersolar Europe 2026.
Awarding the 2025 Badge of Excellence to the winning manufacturers at SNEC 2026, TaiyangNews Managing Director Michael Schmela said that the recognition is intended to highlight sustained performance in commercially available products, reflecting consistency in technology development, product availability and market execution.
Notably, all recipients operate integrated manufacturing facilities with in-house solar cell production. These manufacturers demonstrated consistent performance across advanced cell technologies, including TOPCon, back-contact (BC) and heterojunction (HJT).
Compared with the previous year, not all former recipients retained their eligibility for the 2025 award. While some manufacturers strengthened their positions over the course of the year, others qualified by meeting the minimum 6-month requirement.
Among the awardees, AIKO with its All Back Contact (ABC) module maintained the top position in the rankings throughout 2025. Another BC proponent LONGi whose EcoLife product also sports 25% commercial efficiency, shared the 2nd spot on the list with Maxeon before becoming the sole occupant since June 2025 as the latter was delisted.
Yet, it was TOPCon that remained the most widely represented technology among the winners. The technology also entered the top 3 rank last year. Trinasolar featured in the top 10 for 8 months, before finally taking the 3rd spot on the list in November 2025 following Maxeon’s exit.
JinkoSolar’s 23.69% efficient Tiger Neo helped it replace Huasun to take the 4th position in October last year. The company secured the badge for meeting the 6-month threshold. Astronergy ranked among top 10 last year for all 12 months, reaching a highest rank of no. 5.
DMEGC Solar also stayed put in the top 10, exiting the year with 6th position on the TOP MODULES Listing with JA Solar’s DeepBlue 5.0 slipped to 6th spot in December from top 5.
Huasun Energy was consistently present in the top 10 throughout 2025 as HJT technology representative. Tongwei Solar, also present in the top 10 for 4 months with its TOPCon module, won the badge due to its HJT module’s consistent presence in the top 10 for most part of the year.
