Redren Energy, a fairly new name in the Indian PV module manufacturing space with an 800 MW annual production capacity, showcased its latest PERC and TOPCon products at the recently concluded REI Expo 2024 in Greater Noida, India. Established in 2006 as a producer of solar thermal products followed by PV module production in 2015, the company has more than 17 years of experience in the PV industry.

In an exclusive interview with TaiyangNews, the senior sales manager of Redren Energy, Milan V. Tank promoted the brand new Steorra Pro series n-TOPCon bifacial module, apart from the company's other offerings at its booth.

New product

This Gujarat, India-based company highlighted its debutant Steorra Pro series n-TOPCon bifacial module, available in both dual glass and glass-to-backsheet configurations. This module, equipped with 144 pieces of TOPCon half-cells, boasts a power output of up to 650 W. Without mentioning the highest efficiency level, the company briefly highlighted some basic features of this module, currently under the certification stage. Both versions of the module, have features like higher bifaciality, split junction box (JB), positive power tolerance, and good low irradiance performance, while the dual glass version offers higher durability and better thermal management. A smaller version of this module, under the same Steorra Pro series, can deliver up to 590 W power output.

Commercially available product

The company also displayed its commercially available Steorra series p-PERC cell-based monofacial module at the trade fair. This module, built with 144 pieces of M10-size PERC half-cells, can deliver a power output of up to 550 W and an efficiency of up to 21.29%. It has a temperature coefficient of Pmax at the rate of – 0.3676 %/°C and a nominal module operating temperature (NMOT) of 43°C. Laminated with an ARC-coated high transmission tempered front glass and UV-protected rear side backsheet and measuring 2,278 x 1,134 x 35 mm, the module weighs 28 kg. It is bonded with IP68-rated split JB (3 junction boxes are connected in series) and 300 mm long positive (+) and negative (-) termination cable integrated with MC4 connectors and suitable for portrait installation mode in utility and rooftop projects. According to the company datasheet, this BIS-certified module can withstand a mechanical load of up to 5,400 Pa front-side and 2,400 Pa rear-side.

The dual glass bifacial counterpart of this module also features the same power output of up to 550 W and an efficiency of up to 21.29%. The company offers 12 years of product and 27 years of linear power performance warranty for both models.

Capacity ramp-up

Redren Energy with its current 800 MW annual PV module production capacity in Rajkot, Gujarat, is planning to ramp up to 1.6 GW by next year.
