SolarEdge, a well-known Israeli inverter maker, was one of the global PV inverter manufacturers exhibiting its products at the REI Expo 2024. SolarEdge promoted its wide array of application-specific solutions including residential, home backup & storage, and C&I at the show.

During an exclusive interview with TaiyangNews, Shashidhara BV, head of SolarEdge India, gave a short tour of the showcased products at the company’s booth.

Residential products

For India’s residential application, featuring a grid voltage of 230 V and frequency of 50 Hz, the company promoted the SolarEdge Home Wave inverter with up to 4 kW of output capacity. This inverter, equipped with a single MPPT channel, can have 2 PV string inputs. Its HD-Wave technology has multiple features, such as compatibility with power optimizers, small, lightweight, and built-in module-level monitoring. This model has a maximum inverter efficiency of up to 99%.

The company also showed a 3-phase inverter with up to 10 kW capacity and an S650B series power optimizer for residential applications. The power optimizer, compatible with the SolarEdge Home Wave inverter model, can have a DC input power of up to 650 W and an MPPT operating voltage range of 12.5 V to 85 V.

Storage & backup

The SolarEdge Home Backup interface, combined with the SolarEdge Home Hub inverter and SolarEdge Home battery, controls the smart disconnection of house loads from the grid during power failures. This feature facilitates backup power to full or partial home loads under grid outages.

C&I

For commercial & industrial applications, the company promoted 2 different models at the event – a 120 kW inverter featuring Synergy Technology and a 333 kW model.
