Singapore headquartered solar module company Maxeon Solar Technologies has supplied its Performance 3 UPP shingled cell panels for Ayana Renewable Power's 192 MW solar farm in Bikaner, which the module maker says is the largest Indian power plant project that utilizes its Performance line panels.
Bikaner 1 Solar Farm of Ayana has come up near Thar Desert of Rajasthan, and was commissioned in December 2021. The utility scale solar farm is designed to generate close to 800,000 MWh annually with 398,000 panels installed, contributing to the removal of 650,000 MT of carbon emissions annually during its lifetime.
The Performance 3 panels, explains Maxeon, have a rated efficiency of up to 20.9% and can withstand extreme temperatures that in Bikaner can go up to 50oC in the summer, while dipping as low as -4oC in the winter. Recently, Maxeon said it will offer 40-year warranty on its IBC product line, while continuing to offer 25-year warranty for its value-line SunPower Performance panels (see IBC Solar Panels With Impressive 40-Year Warranty).
Backed by UK's CDC Group and the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) along with EverSource Capital managed Green Growth Equity Fund, Ayana counts its current under development solar, wind and hybrid generation capacity under various stages of construction and operation across India as 3.59 GW.
