

AIKO says ABC components became the main contributor to its H1 2026 revenue with increase in shipments
Overseas markets helped the manufacturer offset weaker conditions in China during the reporting period
The company claims a rolling order backlog of over 10 GW as it continues to explore global markets
AIKO Solar’s shift toward higher-efficiency ABC components gained pace in H1 2026, even as weak demand and pricing pressure continued to weigh on its overall earnings. Nevertheless, it reported 8.72% year-on-year (YoY) increase in revenue with RMB 9.18 billion.
N-type All Back Contact (ABC) shipments accounted for 79% of the company’s total revenue during the period as shipments reached 9.39 GW, representing 50% annual improvement, while Q2 shipments went up by approximately 30% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ). The manufacturer said the increase came despite weaker domestic demand and changes to overseas export tax policies.
Overseas markets were a major part of its growth during H1 as domestic demand weakened. AIKO says its overseas module sales accounted for more than 55% of total ABC sales, while overseas sales volume increased by more than 90% YoY.
It received large-scale project orders in France, Finland, the Czech Republic, Egypt and Romania, alongside procurement awards from major Chinese state-owned enterprises. It is also expanding to markets in Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. AIKO claims a rolling order backlog of over 10 GW.
However, its net loss widened to RMB 753.6 million from RMB 237.5 million in the same period last year.
On the technology front, AIKO says it is increasing the efficiency of its ABC products whose production costs have continued to decline through higher utilization and the use of silver-free and low-silver metallization processes.
The company expects the broader solar industry to benefit from Chinese government’s tighter standards aimed at reducing excess and low-efficiency capacity. China recently approved three mandatory standards setting a 23.5% minimum and 24.2% highest efficiency threshold for back contact modules. AIKO expects the measures to accelerate the removal of lower-efficiency capacity (see China Tightens Energy Standards For Solar Manufacturing).
