  • It will increase its per month production capacity of around 32,000 inverters a month in 2022 to more than 52,000 a month by 2023-end

Austria based solar inverter manufacturer Fronius International GmbH is expanding its annual production capacity by more than 65% to produce over 52,000 inverters a month from almost 32,000 per month it produced in 2022 which it says reflects a 'real boom' in PV and will help it meet 'rocketing demand'.

According to the management, the northern expansion of its production plant in Sattledt, Austria, is already up and running where it has been manufacturing Fronius Tauro since mid-August. It continues to expand the company's existing manufacturing facilities geared towards additional production line for the Fronius GEN24 Plus this year. Plans are to add another 2 in 2023.

Martin Hackl, Fronius' Global Director Marketing and Sales of its Business Unit Solar Energy, said, "We have increased total floor space from 41,000 m² to 69,000 m². Our production facilities are operating constantly at full speed to meet rocketing demand the best we can."

Counting 95% of its contract partners as Europeans, Fronius stated that it wants to focus on high value creation within Europe.

Sustainable consumption of available resources is also on the agenda for Fornius that envisions an increase of 1,300 in employee count by 2023-end.

Hackl added, "Despite difficult circumstances such as unstable supply chains and shortages of components and staff, we were able to secure supply and stabilize production."
