Eternal Sun, the Netherlands-based solar simulators company for PV testing, has secured Bolster Investment Partners as its majority stakeholder. The latter now owns an 80% stake in the company, having acquired it from Vermec and ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund.

Founded in 2011 by Stefan Roest, Eternal Sun provides advanced solar testing equipment including flash and steady-state solar simulators for all PV technologies, namely PERC, TOPCon, HJT, IBC and thin-film.

The company says its technology enables the advancement and scaling of next-generation technologies like tandems and perovskites. It also offers inspection services for large-scale importers and solar project developers.

“We grew as a scale-up, and now we welcome an investor focused on scaling mid-sized companies. We are very proud of our continuous and uninterrupted growth track in what have sometimes been difficult market conditions,” said Eternal Sun CEO Florian van Rijn van Alkemade.

Eternal Sun says it will leverage Bolster’s capital and strategic support to accelerate its buy-and-build strategy, international expansion and operational growth.

“The solar testing market is growing rapidly, driven by new technologies and energy independence trends. Eternal Sun is exceptionally well-positioned, and we look forward to working with their strong and visionary team,” added Managing Partner at Bolster, Mark van Rijn.
