US based solar energy company Cypress Creek Renewables (CCR) has picked SunPower's manufacturing spin-off Maxeon Solar Technologies to supply around 315 MW high efficiency shingled bifacial Performance line solar modules.
Singapore headquartered Maxeon will complete the multi-year order for CCR's multiple solar projects located in Washington and Texas. Maxeon said the deal follows 48 MW modules previously purchased by CCR and strengthens its position as a major module supplier to the large and growing utility scale US solar market.
The deal expands Maxeon's utility scale solar project order from the US. Earlier it secured a contract from Primergy to provide its 210mm sized bifacial solar modules for its 690 MW Gemini Solar & Storage project (see Maxeon Lands 1.8 Million Bifacial Module Order For US).
The module manufacturer recently entered into an agreement with wholesale solar module distributor in the US, Omnidian to capture commercial and industrial (C&I) segment (see North America PV News Snippets). Recently, Maxeon Solar supplied its up to 20.9% efficient Performance 3 UPP shingled cell panels for Ayana Renewable Power's 192 MW solar farm in Bikaner, which the module maker says is the largest Indian power plant project that utilizes its Performance line panels (see 192 MW Solar Farm Online In India).
Maxeon's 3 series modules with IBC technology with 22.7% efficiency is on top of the list of TaiyangNews' Top Solar Modules February 2022 list (see Top Solar Modules Listing – February 2022).
