  • Targeted to be located in Noida, it is scheduled to start commercial operations by March 2025

Chinese solar PV module manufacturer ZNSHINE SOLAR has picked Indian solar EPC Solarworld Energy Solutions as a joint venture (JV) partner for its maiden solar production facility in India. The duo has announced plans to establish a 1 GW module line in India's Noida region.

The module production line is targeted to be commissioned within next 6 months. The expected operational date is March 2025. The duo targets to become the largest solar PV module manufacturers in India.

ZNSHINE says it will now relocate its India office to Noida, where Solarworld is based. Both the companies had been in negotiations for nearly a year before signing the final agreement.

The official announcement does not talk about the module technology ZNSHINE aims to bring to India. The company rolls out both PERC and TOPCon products based on larger format wafer cells.

"This joint venture will further strengthen ZNSHINE SOLAR's competitive advantage in the Indian market, deepen cooperation with local enterprises, and expand its business scope, contributing significantly to the growth of India's renewable energy sector," stated the Chinese manufacturer.

ZNSHINE currently operates 4 production bases, 3 in China and 1 in Indonesia with a combined 12 GW annual capacity of solar modules. It also provides integrated PV, battery storage and green hydrogen solutions along with EPC services for building integrated PV (BIPV), rooftop solar and utility-scale solar solutions.
