  • Korkia has announced the acquisition of the renewable energy business of UK-based RSF Capital Partners
  • Its project pipeline comprises 11 GW capacity, co-developed by their 12 JVs, located in 8 countries
  • The pipeline spans utility-scale solar, onshore wind and co-located batteries

Energy transition-focused corporate finance boutique RSF Capital Partners of the UK has offloaded its renewable energy business, with an 11 GW pipeline, to Finland-based investor Korkia for an undisclosed sum.

The duo has been collaborating in the space for several years, and claim to have established 12 renewable energy project development joint ventures (JV) in 8 nations. All of these JVs together represent a pipeline of 11 GW, comprising utility-scale solar, onshore wind and co-located batteries.

Korkia's CEO Pauli Mäenpää said, "This gigawatt capacity is enough to cover the annual energy consumption of 10 million households. Furthermore, the total investment value of these upcoming facilities will exceed 9 billion euros."

He added that this investment strengthens Korkia's position as an internationally significant investor in renewable energy.

Earlier in September 2023, the Finnish investor announced a joint venture with the Chilean distributed energy assets developer Ciudad Luz for 500 MW of solar, wind, hybrid and storage assets. It is also present in the Greek market where it is investing in 1 GW solar and storage projects (see 500 MW Renewable Energy Joint Venture In Chile).
