  • Technologically advanced solar PV and onshore wind are its target investment fields
  • Its partner Encavis, with its renewable energy experience, will advise the fund

German real estate holding company Branicks Group AG has launched its 1st renewable energy fund to invest in technologically-established and high-yield solar PV systems and onshore wind power plants in Europe with a planned volume of €300 million.

The new fund named Branicks Renewable Energy Fund S.C.S. SICAV-RAIF will also invest in rooftop solar systems and charging stations. The target regions for this fund are Northern, Central and Southern Europe.

Branicks says this is the 1st concrete result of its partnership with Encavis Asset Management announced in 2024. Encavis brings its experience as an independent asset manager and advisor for solar and wind power to the table. The German IPP was acquired by the US-based global investor KKR (see Europe Solar PV News Snippets).

Branicks defines it as an Article 9 Impact Fund classifying it as an ecological, economic and social contribution to contribute to achieving European climate targets.

"With our first renewable energy fund, we are launching the development of our new asset class Renewables. Growing sustainability awareness and a steadily rising demand for electricity coupled with the gradual phasing out of fossil fuels are forcing the generation of electricity on a CO2-free basis," said Branicks CEO Sonja Wärntges. "The resulting dynamic growth opens up attractive potential for returns and increase in value."
