California, US based solar module supplier American Hyperion Solar LLC, with manufacturing facilities in Thailand, has secured a long-term supply contract for 1.65 GW capacity with an unidentified leading US utility developer calling it a milestone for its US market expansion.
Under the contract it will supply its H1 Series PERC solar modules which it says are produced with advanced manufacturing processes and come with 'great aesthetics, lower degradation, and superior low light performance'.
"To meet US customer bankability needs, Hyperion passed a strict factory audit conducted by Munich Re. This approval provides long-term, back-to-back product warranty insurance for Hyperion's utility customers," according to Hyperion.
The module manufacturer will supply 1.65 GW capacity from its Rayong and Pathum Thani province located fabs in Thailand where it currently operates a 6 GW high efficiency solar cell and 2 GW module capacity.
In 2023, the company targets to add 7 GW of n-type TOPCon cell and 7 GW of TOPCon module capacity. It also plans to launch a 600W+ n-type TOPCon module in the US market in Q4/2023.
