  • JA Solar has released its forecast for annual net profit for the the year 2022
  • It expects to report profits ranging between RMB 4.80 billion to RMB 5.60 billion
  • Management said its PV module shipments and revenues improved on annual basis with new production capacity, technological upgrades among other factors

Riding on growing demand for solar, technological advancements and cost reduction efforts, Chinese tier I solar cell and module manufacturer JA Solar Technology expects to report up an annual increase of 135.45% to 174.69% in its net profit for the year 2022.

In a stock exchange filing, JA Solar forecasts a net profit ranging between RMB 4.80 billion to RMB 5.60 billion ($716 million to 835 million) for the period between January 2022 and December 2022.

These unaudited numbers are expected in the wake of a growing global solar market that JA Solar is able to access thanks to its extensive presence and global marketing service network. Without giving any specific numbers for PV module shipments or revenues, the management said during the reporting period, these achieved a 'relatively large increase'.

Release of new production capacity, and technological upgrades helped it reduce production costs. Additionally, efficiency enhancement, superimposed exchange rate changes and other positive factors jointly promote the continuous growth of the company's operating performance.

Recently, JA Solar revealed its plans to develop a highly automated 2 GW module manufacturing facility, its 1st in the US for $60 million investment, catering to all 3 segments of utility scale, commercial as well residential solar (see JA Solar Takes US Solar Module Manufacturing Steps).

JA Solar's Director of Product Technology Kun Tang will participate in TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Solar Module Innovations 2023 Looking Back and Forth on January 31, 2023. Registrations to the event are free and can be done here.
