- Ilmatar Energy has announced plans to build a 450 MW solar power plant in Sweden
- Tönnersjö Solar Power Plant will be located a forest owned by Silvestica Green Forest Sverige AB in Halland County
- Project will be grid connected on completion providing clean energy to 25,000 households
The 450 MW Tönnersjö project will be located in Halland County’s Tönnersjö outside Halmstad. The company has signed a land lease agreement with Silvestica Green Forest Sverige AB to site the facility to locate it in one of its forests.
On coming online, it will be connected to the national grid and will supply green energy for 25,000 households. “The park will produce electricity where it is needed the most, that is, in Swedish price zone 4,” said CEO of Silvestica Green Forest Rickard Lehmann. “The revenue accrued from Silvestica’s park will strengthen the pensions of regular (Swedish) pensioners through our investors, the pension providers.” Ilmatar plans to not fence the project and let people freely enter the area.
In October 2021, Danish fashion group Bestseller completed its 207 MW solar power plant in Denmark calling it the country’s and Northern Europe’s largest solar facility back then (see 207 MW PV Facility For Danish Fashion Group).
