Independent testing lab for downstream solar and energy storge industry, PV Evolution Labs (PVEL) has joined Netherlands based Kiwa Group, an independent testing, inspection and certification (TIC) company.

Under a partnership agreement signed, Kiwa Group said it will invest in PVEL's growth as a new member of the group. PVEL CEO Jenya Meydbray said this investment of Kiwa Group enables it to establish its physical presence for PVEL in the European market and beyond.

"Thanks to our new partnership, we can leverage Kiwa's global consortium of laboratories to bring PVEL's bankability testing to a broader network of solar and energy storage manufacturers, investors and project developers," explained Meydbray.

For Kiwa Group that caters to a number of market segments from drinking water, construction, healthcare to food, medical and pharma, also including renewable energy, this investment in PVEL will help it expand its footprint in the renewables, particularly in the US market.

"By welcoming PVEL into the Kiwa Group, we can provide our customers worldwide with a one-stop-stop for testing, inspection and data services that de-risk solar and energy storage projects," added Kiwa CEO Paul Hesselink.

Both the companies said they plan to collaborate to advance their test programs and certification schemes to better serve their clients.

Previously in March 2014, PVEL had signed an agreement to get acquired by Norway based DNV (earlier DNV GL), a partnership that ended in 2019 when both the companies decided they will have more flexibility to maximize value to customer, separately. Now, PVEL has joined the Kiwa Group.

PVEL CEO Jenya Meydbray stressed on the importance of performance test certifications to keep faulty products out of the market, while participating in TaiyangNews 1st Reliable PV Module Design Conference on October 9, 2020 (see TaiyangNews Reliable PV Module Design Conference). On the occasion, we launched TaiyangNews Backsheet & Module Encapsulation Market Survey 2020 which is available for free download here.
