Key Takeaways
  • Stäubli is expanding its India electrical connectors manufacturing capacity with a $10 million investment

  • Its Bengaluru fab will produce MC4-Evo1 and MC4-Evo2 solar PV connectors with advanced automated assembly lines

  • With this expansion, it aims to increase output, reduce lead times, and strengthen supply chain resilience for OEMs, EPCs, and asset owners in India and worldwide

Stäubli, the Switzerland-based global industrial company, is investing $10 million to expand its manufacturing facility in India that produces electrical connectors for the solar PV industry. The expanded facility commences production in January 2026.

Electrical connectors connect solar modules to inverters and balance-of-system (BOS) equipment. The company’s Bengaluru fab will be expanded to include advanced automated assembly lines and enhanced quality assurance systems to produce MC4-Evo1 and MC4-Evo2 connectors.

The Bengaluru fab currently caters to high-demand centers across India, including Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chennai, and Karnataka.

With the expanded capacity, Stäubli said it aims to meet rising demand for high-quality, locally manufactured PV connectors while also supporting global supply requirements. It will boost production volumes and reduce lead times. It added that the facility will also improve supply chain resilience for OEMs, EPCs, and asset owners.

Calling India a key pillar of the company’s global growth and manufacturing strategy, Stäubli Group CEO Gerald Vogt said that the $10 million investment will strengthen its global supply capabilities and support its customers globally.

Running as a zero-discharge site, the Stäubli facility uses advanced automation and energy-efficient processes. Expansion will enable it to conduct quicker, market-specific innovation while meeting global quality standards, it added.

Stäubli Tec Systems India Managing Director Gurupad Bhat explained, “By strengthening local manufacturing, engineering, and skill development, we are supporting the solar ecosystem with globally benchmarked solutions while contributing to job creation and industrial growth.”
