ET Solar's Boda New Energy fab in Cambodia online; Xinte secures polysilicon order from Shuangliang; DMEGC's 2.5 GW module production project commissioned; PowerChina sourcing Chinese modules for Myanmar plant; Trina modules for wasteland project.

Boda New Energy's Cambodian fab producing now: Boda New Energy of China's ET Solar announced successful production of solar cells at its Cambodian fab calling itself the 1^st PV company to build a solar cell fab in the country. It claims to have completed construction of the fab in 22 days, bringing it to mass production in the time frame. The management did not specify the annual production capacity of the fab in an official release. ET Solar caters to the US, European and Indian markets with its integrated module production capacity in Vietnam and Cambodia. It counts the company's full industrial chain layout comprising 5 GW of silicon wafers, 7 GW cells and 3 GW of modules in Southeast Asia.

Polysilicon order for Xinte Energy: Xinte Energy has secured a polysilicon supply order from Shuangliang Silicon Materials (Baotou) Co Ltd for 201,900 tons. The RMB 58.47 billion order needs to be completed between 2023 and 2030. Shuangliang said the order is aligned with its plans to deploy large size monocrystalline silicon wafers as it aims to have over 40 GW production capacity by the end of 2022. While it will increase the company's future operating costs, it is conducive to ensuring a stable supply of raw materials to meet its future needs.

DMEGC's new 2.5 GW module capacity: DMEGC has announced its solar subsidiary has commissioned a 2.5 GW solar module manufacturing project in Sihong county of Jiangsu province. Built for an investment worth RMB 339 million, the high efficiency solar module production project was originally announced in January 2022 (see China PV News Snippets).

PowerChina's 160 MW Myanmar project: PowerChina is sourcing solar PV modules from Chinese suppliers for its 160 MW solar power plant touted as the 'largest' PV facility in Myanmar. Local media reported 100 containers of solar PV modules arrived recently at the Ningbo Zhoushan Port via ships and rail route. From here, these will be transported to the site in Myanmar. Modules will be deployed for the 5 sub projects in Zototaya, Jingrong, Xuejing, Xida and Jingda in the provinces of Madalay, Magway and Bago.    

Trina Solar modules for distributed solar project: Trina Solar has supplied its 210 Vertex 670W ultra-high solar power modules for a solar power plant on wasteland with an intelligent tracking system, also supplied by the integrated PV company. The project is equipped with Trina Trailblazer 1P tracking brackets. Each bracket can install up to 120 modules which improves power output and decreases per kWh cost, it explained. Trina called it China's '1^st' spoil field 'intelligent tracking photovoltaic system and high-standard farmland construction' composite utilization pilot project. This Panzhihua high-speed distributed photovoltaic power station project has now been grid connected.
