Trina's produces first 210 PV module in Inner Mongolia: Chinese solar company Trina Solar announced that its high-efficiency photovoltaic module project in Inner Mongolia has been put into production. A key advocate of the 210 cell format, the company has started production of its 210 high-efficiency photovoltaic modules in Inner Mongolia. In our virtual Intersolar Europe 2022 review conference hosted by TaiyangNews in July, Trina Solar's Adele Zhao spoke on 210 technology in her presentation (see The Ultra-High Performance Module Series for All Rooftops).

Mubang Hi-Tech ventures into solar cell production: Producer and seller of educational goods, Mubang Hi-Tech, said in an announcement that it has partnered with Wuzhou Municipal Government and will be investing in the construction of a 10 GW TOPCon solar cell production base project. Mubang's investment will be about RMB 4.4 billion ($0.65 billion), and the company will be setting up a wholly-owned subsidiary for project operation. Spread across 500 acres, this project marks the company's entry into photovoltaics segment.

China Energy's Dubai project Phase 3 construction begins: China Energy Engineering Zhejiang Thermal Power's 900 MW photovoltaic project in the United Arab Emirates is being developed in phases of 300 MW each. Local media reported that the project has now entered the third phase of construction. The first phase of the project was completed in June 2021. In the second phase, 100 MW has been put into operation, while the remaining 200 MW has also entered construction phase. The third phase is expected to be completed and put into operation by April 2023. On completion, the project is expected to produce about 2.268 billion kWh of electricity annually.

Souhang Hi-Tech to build large scale new energy project: Solar thermal power generation company Shouhang Hi-Tech said that it has got into an agreement with the Suzhou District Government, and will be investing in the local construction of a large multi-energy project in Jiuquan. The project will have 200 MW of solar thermal, 520 MW of photovoltaics and 800 MW of wind power, and the total investment may span anywhere between RMB 10 to 11 billion ($1.48 to $1.63 billion).

French carbon footprint certification for GCL System modules: Chinese solar PV cell and module manufacturer GCL System Integration Technology announced on WeChat that it has received French carbon footprint certification for its 182 and 210 large cell size based PERC series of solar modules. This emphasizes further the green and low-carbon aspect of the company's modules, it said. With an average carbon footprint of about 400 to 450 kg CO2/kW, GCL's modules carbon emission is 10% to 20% lower than the average carbon emission of the same type of products, it claims.
