Yingli Solar begins construction of 5 GW high-efficiency cell fab: In a WeChat communication, solar PV manufacturer Yingli Solar said that its 5 GW high-efficiency n-type solar cell project recently held its groundbreaking ceremony. Total investment for the fab in Mancheng Economic Development Zone in Baoding City is RMB 2.5 billion ($0.37 billion). The factory will produce advanced n-type TOPCon high-efficiency cells and is expected to be put into operation by the first quarter of 2023. The output value of the project is expected to reach about RMB 6.5 billion ($0.95 billion).

Shuangliang Eco-Energy to lend RMB 1.1 bn to subsidiaries: China headquartered solar PV production equipment maker Shuangliang Eco-Energy said that it is considering lending its subsidiary Shuangliang Silicon Materials an interest-free loan of about RMB 1.1 billion ($0.16 billion) through raised funds. The funds will be used for construction of the first phase of the 40 GW monocrystalline silicon project of Shuangliang Silicon Materials (Baotou). In July, Shuangliang Silicon Materials (Baotou) has got into an agreement with subsidiaries of Chint Solar (see China PV News Snippets)

Lixin Energy to invest RMB 2.9 billion in hybrid solar & storage projects: Clean energy development and construction company Lixin Energy announced that its subsidiaries are investing in new energy projects. Here are the details:

  • Wholly-owned subsidiary Qitai Chaifeng New Energy plans to invest in a 300 MW new energy project that will have 75,000 kW of energy storage for 4 hours. This project would include 100 MW of PV power and 200 MW of wind power.
  • Its subsidiary Jimsar County Lixin Photoelectric plans to invest in a 150 MW PV power generation project that will have 37,500 kW of energy storage for 4 hours.

The investment of the entire project will be about RMB 2.9 billion ($0.42 billion).

Gold Stone's 800 MW HJT solar cell production line launched: High efficiency solar cell production solution provider Gold Stone Energy has launched a 800 MW HJT solar cell production line, local media reports reported. The production line comes with the latest PECVD technology and is expected to achieve a balance between: a) considerable capacity and production line stability; b) between large chamber and overall high yield of products; c) between smart design and energy saving, thus integrating continuous improvement with future development.

Chint Power commissions 3 GW PV inverter manufacturing base: Solar power system solution provider Chint Power held the commissioning ceremony of a PV inverter smart manufacturing base in Taishun. Spread across 3,000 square meters, the project will be built in phases – in the first phase a 1 GW line for 25~30 kW residential inverters will be built; this will be followed by the second phase of 2 GW of 40~100kW C&I string inverter and PCS production line. After being put into operation, the annual production capacity is expected to reach 3 GW, with the output value up to RMB 500 million ($73.2 million).
