DAS Solar launches new black bifacial module with 22% efficiency; Hengfeng Shengtai constructing 100,000 tons silicon project; Suntech gets equipment for 10 GW module project; Boshiac secures RMB 43.35 million contract from Ningxia Crystal; HES Solar to subscribe to DAS Solar.

DAS Solar’s new bifacial module: DAS Solar has launched an all-black n-type bifacial double glass solar module with a module efficiency of up to 22%. The product is designed with 54 pieces M10 PV cells and has a power output of up to 430W. DAS Solar says it has used a new colorless coating technology to ensure the coated glass reduces the light reflection and improves power generation. The black busbar is overlaid with black silicone. It is also 3kg lighter than the conventional dual glass module and 0.7 kg lighter than monofacial panel thus bringing down labor and transportation costs. DAS is offering a 15-year product and material, along with a 30-year linear power warranty for the module that’s 5-year longer than traditional monofacial modules. The module is targeted towards the global residential segment. DAS CTO Dengyuan Song recently presented at TaiyangNews’ High Efficiency Solar Conference 2022 about N-type monocrystalline Si bifacial cells for high efficiency and low cost, which can be viewed here.

100,000 tons silicon project enters construction: Hengfeng Shengtai New Materials (Xinjiang) has started constructing its 100,000 tons high-purity crystalline silicon project in Yidong Industrial Park in Yining County of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. According to the local government, construction of the RMB 9.3 billion project is planned to be completed in 2 phases with phase I completed between December 2022 and December 2024 and bringing online 50,000 tons. Under phase II that will run between August 2024 and July 2026, the other 50,000 tons will be put into commercial operations. On completion, the entire project is expected to generate over RMB 10 billion worth of industrial output.

Suntech’s 10 GW module project update: Suntech Fengyang has installed the 1st batch of PV module production equipment for its 10 GW module production facility. It covers all the mainstream product technologies in the industry, according to the company. It expects the project to generate annual sales revenue of RMB 17 billion once it is completely online.

Boshiac’s contract with Ningxia Crystal: Boshiac says it has secured a RMB 43.35 million polysilicon automatic packaging line and automatic packing line sales contract with Ningxia Crystal New Energy Materials. The contracted amount, excluding tax, represents 1.82% of its 2021 operating income.

HES to subscribe to DAS Solar: HES Technology Group has said it plans to subscribe to new registered capital of solar cell and module producer DAS Solar with its own funds worth RMB 50 million. The proposed investment is aligned with HES’ strategy to improve its investment capabilities and capital investment returns.
