Energy China and Wubao County partner for 800 MW project; while Guangzhou Development to build 350 MW Agri-PV project; Shanghai Yatong to establish RMB 19 million subsidiary; EGing PV to raise RMB 1.3 billion for a module factory.

Energy China & Wubao sign 800 MW project: China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. (Energy China Group) and Wubao County have signed an 800 MW wind energy-photovoltaic-hydropower-storage project for an investment of RMB 5.1 billion ($0.80 billion). Out of the 800 MW total installed capacity, photovoltaic projects are of 400 MW, wind power projects are of 200 MW, and pumped storage projects are of 200 MW. Last year March, Energy China Group and Zhaodong City had signed a strategic agreement for a ‘million-kW’ energy base (see China PV News Snippets: LONGi, Tongwei, Energy China, Ancai)

Guangzhou Development Group to invest RMB 1.4 bn in Agri-PV: Guangzhou Development Group announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Guangzhou Development New Energy Co., Ltd., the People’s Government of Changshun County, and Miao Autonomous Prefecture have signed an agreement to develop agricultural photovoltaic power generation projects. As per the agreement, Guangzhou Development New Energy Company plans to build about 350 MW agricultural PV power generation project in Changshun County with an investment of about RMB 1.4 billion.

Shanghai Yatong to invest RMB 19 mn for PV power station business: Real estate development and communication engineering company Shanghai Yatong Co., Ltd. said that in order to improve the company’s income, it plans to establish a subsidiary – Shanghai Yatong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., (tentative name) – with a registered capital of RMB 19 million ($2.99 million). The new company will be engaged in the construction and operation of solar power station projects in Chongming District, but will not involve research, development and production of photovoltaic-related equipment.

EGing PV to raise RMB 1.3 billion: Solar module manufacturer EGing PV announced its plans to raise up to RMB 1.3 billion ($0.20 billion) for a 5 GW high-efficiency solar module production facility in Changzhou.
